Living and Working in the UAE – Abu Dhabi
The United Arab Emirates constitutes seven emirates with Abu Dhabi as its Federal Capital. Abu Dhabi is also the largest and second most populated city in the UAE.
Because of its strategic location, Abu Dhabi provides valuable access to many important markets and resources. With its rapidly growing economy, it is not only the wealthiest emirate of the UAE but also qualifies as one of the wealthiest in the world. Abu Dhabi owns 95% of the UAE’s oil production and continues to be the highest contributor to the UAE’S total GDP.
In the January 2017, the British online newspaper The Independent published a report that ranks the United Arab Emirates as the 4th best country for expats to work in. Abu Dhabi, in particular, is ranked as the second highest for quality of living across Africa and the Middle East, according to a Mercer’s 2017 Quality of Living Survey.
The last few years saw many large corporations and international companies relocating their businesses to Abu Dhabi and those with required expertise and good communication skills generally find work with these companies. With its tax-free living, growing economy and booming employment scenario, Abu Dhabi has attracted expats from across the world.
